5Areo garden are super  May 02, 2010
I have three areo gardens and you need to replace the
lights in them so the plants will grow. I grow
tomatoes, lettuce, green beans with my gardens
so far.

5HAVE 3 AERO GARDENS  May 01, 2010
I HAVE 3 AERO GARDENS AND ALL 3 ARE IN CONSTENT USE. RIGHT NOW I HAVE SALAD GREENS GROWING IN 1. HAVE FLOWER SEEDS GROWING IN ANOTHER AND THE THIRD HAS SMALL POTTED PLANTS UNDER THE LIGHTS. POTTED PLANTS AND POTTED SEEDLINGS GROW VERY FAST AND ARE VERY HEALTHY.

5Best Aerogrow bulb  Jan 07, 2010
This is the perfect Aerogrow bulb for the classic Aerogrow garden. It also comes at a great price and great shipping.

5I see the light  Jan 03, 2010
Call me naive, but I didn't see the necessity to replace the AeroGarden bulbs if they still produced light, and I was wrong. After a bulb died, I ordered a replacement pair from Amazon. I did research and found that they are the only bulbs which can be used, they are basically the same price everywhere, if you order online, shipping charges vary, and local stores do not stock many of these. That's about it. No brainer that Amazon was my supplier of choice -- fast shipping, (2 days w/ Prime membership), competitive price, guarantee that they would be fine when they arrived, and I love supporting my favorite "shop."

The replacement bulbs look exactly like the previous bulbs and the snug fit was equal in all. At first, I thought that I'd simply replace the one dead bulb and keep the second one as the backup, but after I recovered from the illumination produced by the new bulb, I immediately removed the second one and replaced it as well. The plants have shown a love for the new lights and are sprouting much more quickly than they had for the previous four weeks. Although I'm not thrilled at paying ten dollars for each bulb, I've invested in this garden, and that's the way it is (for now). Aside from that, my only criticism of the bulbs is that one separated from the base when I removed it from the garden. Didn't make me feel too secure even though the lights were not turned on. I will now replace the bulbs in the recommended six months, but I'll keep those which still do produce light as a backup in the event that one burns out prematurely. I don't want to be caught in the dark again.

5These are worth every penny! Don't skimp on the bulbs  Dec 18, 2009
I've had 3 aerogardens (all 7-pod) going since November '08. They are all in the same room and on the same 'lights on/off' schedule so I never really noticed the bulbs getting dimmer. Because they appeared to be fine, I didn't change them with the second planting. Nor the third...ACK!!! Out of 3 new garden plantings, 2 failed completely and the third looked like a scene out of Terminator Salvation! Horrid.

I had replacement bulbs for each unit stored in the cabinet, but just didn't think they actually needed replacing. When I ruined those 3 new 'gardens', I decided maybe, just maybe, the instructions knew more than this smarty-pants did.

I wondered if it truly was my lack of attention to detail or just a few compromised seed pod sets (I was betting on the latter, of course!) I left the sick, decrepit gardens in place and changed the bulbs in all 3 classic units. Holy Cow, did I need my sunglasses and sunscreen! Such brightness! I never realized how dull the old bulbs had gotten until I changed them. Within 2 days of the new bulbs being in place, all 3 gardens began to revive. That was 2 weeks ago and now I have healthy, abundant, great looking romaine, baby greens and tomatoes growing again. I thought I was going to have to trash those entire gardens and order new sets but the bulb change was nothing short of awesome. Never again will I pinch pennies and try to make the bulbs last longer than they should.

Change the bulbs as instructed. Your gardens will be astronomical!
