4Great tool for the price  Jul 29, 2010
I've installed approx. 300 sq. feet so far with no issues. Didn't jam once. I had to tighten some bolts in the beginning and didn't leak from those areas again. It came with a few common replacement parts and pictures on how to replace which I haven't had to use yet but they explained the process very thoroughly. About 250 sq. ft. into the job I started hearing a faint leak coming out of the bottom. I couldn't get rid of it with tightening any of the bolts. One of the replacement parts may need to be used. It didn't hinder the operation on the tool though. Overall, I'm glad I didn't rent. I'll know if it was worth it when I finish up the other ~700 sq. ft.

4Got a FREE upgrade!!!  Jul 23, 2010
I really purchased the N-799, which is their orange [bostitch look-a-like]. I liked the high reviews and noticed the price trending down recently. I purchased it for $212 which included shipping costs. I was pleasantly shocked when the X-799 PRO model showed up! Right now that model is selling here for $299 w/free shipping. So my guess by reading that this has happened before [other reviewers] that Akuzuki is giving folks a free upgrade [thanks!] or someone in the shipping dept. can't tell the orange N-799 from the gray X-799. Either way it's a welcome bonus!

As far as the tool goes I will post my review once I have completed a 700 SF bamboo T&G job I'm ready to do. FYI some folks have complained about air leaks etc, just my opinion BUT all tools [air] require tightening...sometimes out of the box too! Even though everything "looks" good you can bet I'll check/tighten/lube all as well as test fire on some scrap BEFORE I use it on the job. Even the high dollar Porter Cable nailer [which is great but big $$$$] another installer was using needed adjustments before using the first time. **** stars just b/c I have not used it yet.

5great buy  Apr 27, 2010
Read reviews before purchasing the Akuzuki Floorig nailer. It's everything everybody said and more. Could not be more pleased. Installed first room and closets wih old manual nailer and decided there had to be a better way. Wow!, this tool worked flawessly and made the rest of the installation a breeze. I have purchased several tools in the past 40 years. This has to be one of the best buys ever.

5GREAT FOR PRICE  Apr 26, 2010
Just about to finish 404 sq. ft. of hardwood flooring. Akuzuki nailer working great. One major jam. runs consistent at 80 p.s.i. Keep the nail track full to avoid jams.

5Exceeded my expectations  Mar 19, 2010
My project consisted of laying out 1000 square feet of 3/4" hardwood flooring, only I didn't want to take off work to do so. Having previously laid 700 square feet at my previous home, I knew how time consuming this will be, and quickly realized that it wouldn't be economical to rent a nailer. I began searching for a nailer and came across this product from Akuzuki (who?). Based on the price and name, I figured it was a knock-off, one that could be found in chinese-based tool stores, but what blew me away was all of the positive reviews of it. I realized the potential risk for this tool being a 'throw-away', I decided to move forward based on the reviews.

I purchased this unit(price: $199) however, a week later, at my doorstep was the professional version (price: $299). As other reviews said, everything came nice and neat, including an extra set of rings for a rebuild.

To date, I have driven 8000 nails through this tool and not one jamb. At about 5000 nails, I started to hear a little hiss around the plunger, however after a few more hits, the hissing is gone. The rings must've reseated. However, this problem does appear typically after I've disconnected the air supply for some time. Driving pressure for 3/4" solid oak hardwood is 100psi. I do add air-tool oil every other day (as I do with all of my other air tools)

I do not consider this tool a 'throw-away' as it has performed above my expectations. While I still don't know where Akuzuki is from, I will say that it rivaled the other air nailers and staplers I've rented like Bostisch or Stanley at one-half the cost. Thank you.
