 Snow & Ice Melt Spreader Jan 27, 2010
I tried regular garden spreaders to spread sand and rock salt to no avail, they worked for the rock salt but jammed up with sand. This unit spreads both with no problem. It works for what I wanted so it is worth the extra cost over a regular garden spreader(neither brodcast or drop spreader worked with sand).

Amazon had the best price (overall) on this item. It went together in 10 minutes. It is VERY lightweight. All of this might be good and it might work like a charm and last forever. BUT...Earthway is cleaning up on this spreader as no way in hell it costs over $50 to make--if that. A "commercial" spreader? Hoo Haa! I'd hate to see their "regular" one. A 3-year old could push this sucker. My roots tend towards HEFT equalling quality in many products, thus this doesn't compute.
But then my old TV weighed 80 pounds and my new, improved, and larger one weighs 30. In sum, this seems too lightweight to be around long, but proof will be in the pudding. My guess is that 4 stars will end up being too high a rating.
