SO THANKFUL FOR THIS PRODUCT!! Dec 20, 2009 My wife and I had a rep from invisible fence come out and needless to say they quoted almost 5 times more the cost of this kit to do the same thing I was able to do with this kit! I did a ton of research and found PetSafe and Invisible fence equipment are almost the exact same equipment manufactured by the same company.
Long story short, I have a 60 pound hound/Rhodesian male dog who is about 8 months old..at 6 months he started to dig under our nice privacy fence. I installed this on the top of the fence then made a loop back at the bottom per the instructions. I initially walked him around per the instructions on day one with just the beep warning. Day two I put it on the lowest shock but it just tickled him. Day three I put it on the second shock level and that really got his attention..After about 2 more days we were able to leave him outside by himself..about 2 weeks have gone by now and he will not come within 5 feet of the fence as that is his boundry..THANK GOD!
Good product..I highly recommend it!
UNDER WATER Dec 19, 2009 I've had the fence for a couple months and just love it. However, I live on a lake and would like to run the fence about 20' out into the water so my puppies can go for a swim. I thought of putting the wire in plastic conduit, will that work? I also have a rocky/wooded area I would like to use plastic conduit, will the shock transmit though plastic? Does anyone Know???
Very pleased Dec 19, 2009 We couldn't believe how quickly it arrived. Thank you It was easy instructions and it works. It didn't take all the training the dvd suggested. Once our lil dogs went near it they thought whoa..... thats all it took. We are very pleased.
Works just fine, but remember success depends on training Dec 10, 2009 I replaced an existing system with this unit, and I am pleased to report it works just fine. In my case, the wiring was already in the ground, so it was simple. A couple notes for people considering this system:
-- The wiring that came with it (which I did not use because I already had a wired installation) is not labeled as to what guage it is--looks like 20 guage to me. In general, the lower the gauge, the thicker and more durable the wire installation will be. When I pulled up a 20-gauge system system last year, the wire broke in several places while pulling it up. It is best to go 18 or 16 guage solid copper, which you can find on the internet.) I wish I could have bought this without the wire, but it was cheaper to buy the whole system and toss the wire.
--The success or failure of an underground dog system depends not so much on the product, but on the time invested in doing the training even before you turn the system on. Remember, that an underground dog "fence" is not really a fence at all, but only an aid for training your dog to stay in the yard. A lot of compaints you hear about "it just doesn't work for my dog" really means they didn't do all the training or didn't understand the basic premise that this is a training aid, not a "fence" that you just put in and it does the job of a physical fence.

Simple and Effective Oct 17, 2009 This fence works great. Very easy to setup and our dog learned her boundaries in just a few days. The instructions are very easy to understand. Nice product.
